Holt began his career in the oil and gas industry in 2008, as a freshman attending Texas Christian University. While working as a landman, he gained experience going door to door negotiating oil and gas leases with mineral owners in the Barnett Shale play as well as traveling to Oklahoma to research mineral and leasehold ownership in the Woodford Shale play. Holt was a founding member of the TCU Energy Club which helped educate students about the industry and connect them with potential employers. After graduating TCU with a B.B.A in Finance and Accounting in 2011, he founded Shepherd Royalty along with his father, Gary Redwine. He volunteers alongside organizations such as Brother Bill’s Helping Hand and Advocates for Community Transformation, as well as fundraising for KidLinks and the Yellow Rose Gala Foundation. He is a member of All Saints Dallas.
